The Ravelymics is almost here!!! Have you joined your teams and picked your events!!???
Well I have! I feel accomplished….I’ve joined Team Overly Ambitious Yet Plausibly Possible (OAYPP). I LOVE that name! don’t you? I think so far we have 24 members, maybe more. Since we are so overly ambitious, we are involve in other teams too and a plethora of projects . We are doing projects right in line with the 2008 Olympics in Bejing. We need to cast on (or start chaining for crocheters) Aug 8 at 8pm Beijing time til closing ceremonies on Aug 24 and at 8pm Beijing time. All Ravthletes have until the flame is extinguished to finish their projects.

What events are you in???
I’ve joined the event for “Free-for-all Freestlye” I believe this event is for anything you want, like a free for all right? I thought so, so I am making the Kluster Crochet hook holder from Berroco.

The second event I’ve joined is the “HatDash” which for OBVIOUS reasons I’ve joined because I LOVE LOVE hats. I am doing the Nubby Brim Cloche for this event.

The third event I’ve joined is the “Vest Vault”. I always liked to make a vest, here’s my excuse….
i am doing the Wendy’s WaistCoat featured in the Fall 2006 Interweave Crochet Magazine. It’s like a waist Vest thingie that is absolutely cutesy.

I’m really excited. and hope i get done in time…..

Wavy Shell-Stitch Hoops

You’ll need:

◊Size 1.25 mm crochet hook
◊Hoop earring, with at least a 2″ diameter or 5mm diameter.
◊Floss thread, any color
◊Tapestry needle

Note: These rows are worked on the OUTSIDE of the hoop. It wouldn’t appear very wavy at first, but when you are done with the two rows, push the work to the inside of hoop and TADA you have wavy! I promise.

Note 2: If you are an experienced hooker, and know the difference between the “right side of work” and the “wrong side of work”, and are bothered when you see it and think ” the wrong side is showing!” If you have this problem like I do, start crocheting from the post part on one earring and start from the clasp part of the other earring . Then you will have them match so that the right side of the work is showing on each earring.

Row 1: Work 56 sc around the hoop.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, slst in first 2 stitches, *sc,hdc,dc,hdc,sc, (each in their own stitch) slst in the next 2 stiches repeat from * around.

Finish off. Sew in loose ends, and like I said before, push the work to the inside of hoop and TADA! Look at your cute earring, then repeat it again for the other earring!!!

I was just thinking of this pattern and came up with a new piece of info….. Depending on the hoop you are able to find, add multiples of 7 sc’s in row one if your hoop is bigger, if the hoop is smaller, take away multiples of 7 sc’s in row one.

The Flower Pendant

You’ll need:

-You need a size D crochet hook.
-Thread of your choice but preferably as thin as you can get it.
-A tapestry needle.

MAKE 2
Ch 4, slst to form a ring.

Rnd 1- Ch 1, (sc in ring ch3) repeat this 4 times more, slst to first sc.= 5 ch 3 spaces

Rnd 2- ch 1, (sc,hdc,3 dc,hdc,sc) in each ch 3 space. slst to first sc=5 petals

After you made the second one sew them together and you have a pendant. Its your choice if you want to add a cute bead to the middle or not. Add a jump ring and slip it on a chain.

How easy is that????

The Bangle

You’ll need:

a size 1.50mm crochet hook

regular yarn like a 2-ply, but not sport weight

a tapestry needle

A thick bangle bracelet( that you don’t like)

And just sc around the bangle, be sure to not crochet sooo tight the work can’t be twisted later.
When the bangle is completely covered, slst to the first sc and finish off. Use the tapestry needle to sew in the loose ends

The Ring

You’ll need

-a size 1.50 mm crochet hook

-thread of you choice, but thin

-a tapestry needle

NOTE: this is for a size 7 1/2 i think ring. so if it doesn’t fit, its too large, try smaller hook, if its too small try a bigger hook. if the problem still persists regardless, post a comment, i will help…

Ch 18, slst to form a ring.

Rnd 1 Ch 1, sc in each in the next 18 chs- 18 sc

Repeat Rnd 1 to your desired length then finish off and sew in the loose ends.

Pica De Flores- (Spanish word for hummingbirds)
Doesn’t really apply to these earrings but hummingbirds
will like them!

I will have a catalog of all my designs and some of my borrowed designs that I absolutely can’t resist….
August first is the release date. So we need a little patience!!!!

My boutique is almost open. My husband and I and a few of our children painted it along with our english school. We are really excited and happy that it’s almost done.
